🔐 Manual Activation (Token-Based)
For computers that can connect to the internet occasionally — generate a one-time activation token using your license key.
Get Your License Key
After purchase, you'll receive a license key via email (e.g., SOL-XXXXXXXXXXXX-XXXX).
Copy Machine ID
On your target computer, open ChatFormats → License → Manual Activation. Copy the Machine ID displayed.
Generate & Activate
Paste your License Key + Machine ID below to generate a token. Enter that token in ChatFormats (internet required once).
📝 Generate Activation Token
Requires a valid license key from your purchase confirmation email.
Enter the license key you received after purchasing ChatFormats.
Copy this from your computer's ChatFormats → License → Manual Activation.
⚠️ This token expires in 7 days and can only be used once.
💻 Finding Your Machine ID
The Machine ID is a unique identifier for your computer. To find it:
- Open ChatFormats on your computer
- Go to License → Manual Activation
- Your Machine ID will be displayed — copy the 32-character ID exactly
Copy the Machine ID from the license dialog. Transfer it to an internet-connected computer via USB drive, email, or take a photo.

Each computer has its own unique ID. Make sure you're using the ID from the computer you want to activate.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
🔑 I don't have a license key. Can I still get a token?
No. Tokens can only be generated for valid, paid license keys. Purchase a license first.
📧 I lost my license key email. What do I do?
Contact support at support@chatformats.com with your purchase email or order number.
🌐 Does my computer need internet to activate?
Yes — once. After activation, you can disconnect and use ChatFormats offline for the entire license period (1 year).
🔄 Can I use the same token on multiple computers?
No. Each token is cryptographically bound to a specific Machine ID and can only be used once.
⏰ My token expired. What now?
Tokens expire after 7 days for security. Generate a new token using the same license key and Machine ID.
🔒 What about truly air-gapped computers?
